Even though Hizbullah is declaring victory -- and others are seeing the fight with Israel as a draw -- President Bush said on Friday the Shiite group is the loser. But the American leade said it may take some time for the world to see it that way.
Bush told reporters at Camp David that he is not surprised Hizbullah and its supporters are declaring victory. He noted he probably would have done the same if he were in their shoes.
But Bush added, "Sometimes it takes people awhile to come to the sober realization of what forces create stability and what don't."
He added Hizbullah is a "force of instability," and that it's responsible for the bloodshed and the destruction in southern Lebanon. Bush also conveyed he's still hoping France will agree to send more troops to southern Lebanon.
