A British tourist was in hospital in Amman Wednesday after being stabbed by two men in a residential district of the Jordanian capital, a British diplomatic source said.
The unnamed man, aged 29, was wounded at least twice, in the arm and the abdomen, but his condition was not life threatening, the source added.
The attack happened Tuesday in the western Jabal Amman district. The tourist was still sedated Wednesday but conscious, and the Jordanian police expected to be able to question him Thursday.
It was not known if the incident was connected with the wave of unrest sweeping the neighboring Palestinian territories.
