A bomb damaged the car of a Hamas official in Gaza, reports Agence France Presse.
"A home-made bomb damaged a car belonging to a military police officer which was parked in front of his house in Gaza City, without causing casualties," Gaza interior ministry spokesman Iyad al-Buzum said in a statement.
The victim was identified as Helmi Khalad, administrative and financial manager of the Hamas-run military police, witnesses told AFP.
It remains unknown who was behind the attack, but the incident follows an incident in which Hamas police arrested numerous Islamist protesters for trying to attack the French cultural centre in Gaza City in retaliation to the Charlie Hebdo cartoons
