Blast at Pakistani Militant Meeting Kills One, Injures Seven

One person was killed and seven injured Sunday when a grenade was thrown at a gathering here of Pakistan-based militant group Lashkar-e-Toiba, the group said. 

An official of the outfit said a grenade, which was hurled at the crowd of hundreds of people holding a convention at a school grounds in the port city. 

He said one person died and seven others were injured, who were admitted to hospital. 

Lashkar-e-Toiba, one of the main guerrillas outfits fighting against Indian rule in Kashmir, started a two-day convention here Saturday in support of Palestinians in the current Middle East crisis. 

The group had announced the launch of a jihad (holy war) against Israel and its top leader Hafiz Saeed said thousands of volunteers would be sent to fight for the liberation of Jerusalem – KARACHI (AFP)
