An explosion ripped through a house in a village in eastern Lebanon, a stronghold of the Shiite Muslim fundamentalist Hizbollah, without inflicting casualties, security sources said.

The blast totally destroyed a house at the entrance to Nabisheet, south of the city of Baalbek in the eastern Bekaa Valley, they said.

The explosion did not inflict casualties, as the house was empty at the time of the blast, they said without giving details on the reasons behind the incident -- BAALBEK (AFP)
