ALBAWABA- Representative Adam Schiff of California, a prominent House Democrat, has urged President Biden to drop out of the presidential race, expressing serious doubts about his ability to win.

Despite this, US Democrats announced plans for an expedited virtual nomination for Biden in the first week of August, bypassing some lawmakers' calls for him to step aside.

Critics within the party have condemned the decision for a remote vote, accusing the leadership of rushing through Biden's candidacy instead of waiting for the party's convention in Chicago on August 19.

This development follows a new poll indicating that nearly two-thirds of Democrats want the 81-year-old president to withdraw.

The poll reflects growing concerns about Biden's fitness for office, especially after a poor performance in a television debate against Donald Trump.

This sentiment contradicts Biden's post-debate assertion that "average Democrats" still support him, despite the desertion of some "big names."
