ALBAWABA - Speaking on the purportedly second attempt on the life of former President Donald Trump, President Joe Biden emphasized the need for the Secret Service to have more funding. He made these comments while leaving the White House to go to Delaware.

Following the FBI's classification of the recent Florida incident—in which gunfire were reported close to Trump's location—as possibly an assassination attempt, Biden made his remark. In response to mounting worries about the protection of prominent political leaders, Biden said, "The Secret Service requires additional support."

On September 15, in the late evening, there were reports of gunshots close to a place in Florida where Trump was. Steven Cheung, the head of Trump's campaign communications, verified the former president's safety by saying, "President Trump is safe after gunshots were reported in the area. There are presently no other information available."

Through his X account, Donald Trump Jr. said that local law enforcement had found an AK-47 weapon in some adjacent bushes and had detained a suspect after the event.

The former president was playing golf when the suspect was shot by a Secret Service member who was working with Trump at the time, according to reporting from the Associated Press.

Following the event, Trump informed his followers via email that he was safe. He said, "I will never give up. I heard gunshots, but before rumors spread, I want everyone to know: I am safe and unharmed."

The events at Trump's Florida golf club have prompted the FBI to open an investigation, classifying the incident as potentially being an assassination attempt. This happened months after a similar incident in July during which Trump narrowly avoided being attacked at a rally in Pennsylvania and only suffered a minor ear injury.

Former presidents' security fears have been rekindled by the recent effort, and talks to strengthen security protocols are now under progress.
