ALBAWABA - A report by Al Araby Al Jadeed revealed that the Biden administration would give the green light for Israeli troops to invade the southern Gazan city of Rafah under the condition that Israel retracts its threats to retaliate against Iran.
A senior official told Al Araby Al Jadeed (The New Arab) that "Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu managed to obtain American approval for a military operation in Rafah, in exchange for Israel refraining from carrying out a wide military operation against Iran in response to its recent attack".
"Discourse of an Israeli response to Iran contradicts the desires of the American administration, and is not realistic, given the Israeli claims that the United States played the major role in repelling the Iranian attack and preventing its success" the source claimed.
The source also said that the IOF "carried out airstrikes [overnight on Thursday] on several areas adjacent to the border between the Gaza Strip and Egypt" adding that some Egyptian officials were notified of Israel's intention to execute these strikes.
The report also added that the strikes targeted the Philadelphi axis at a space adjacent to the border with Egypt.
According to the source, Egypt is "exemplifying full readiness and preparedness of its forces stationed in northern Sinai, along the 14-kilometer border strip with the Gaza Strip, as part of a plan to deal with the scenario of a ground invasion in Rafah".
Egyptian sources told Al Araby Al Jadeed that Israel is planning on dividing Rafah into numbered blocks, where each block will be heavily targeted in order to force its residents and the people who took refuge there to flee the area, which falls under "forced displacement".
Al-Aqsa Flood operation against Israel
Hamas military group announced on Oct. 7 a military operation called "Al-Aqsa Flood" against Israel which is the biggest offensive in decades.
Palestinian fighters “infiltrated” Israel from the Gaza Strip and captured military bases and took hostages as photos and videos went viral online showing Hamas fighters on vehicles inside Israel and others paragliding into occupation territory.
In response, Israeli armed forces announced targeting Hamas positions inside the Gaza Strip. Thousands were killed, and dozens of thousands of others were injured in the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.
The latest statistics by the Ministry of Health in Gaza revealed that the death toll from Israeli brutal pounding on the Gaza Strip since October 7 has soared to 33,899+ people, with more than 76,664+ injuries.
Since then, approximately 85% of Gazans have been displaced, all of whom are suffering from severe food insecurity, and the healthcare system has collapsed. Hundreds of thousands of people lack shelter, and aid trucks are entering the area at a lower rate than before the conflict began.
