BenQ Global Reports Strong LCD Monitor Sales

Middle East registers over 30% growth

BenQ, the global leader in networked lifestyle solutions, crossed yet another performance milestone with strong results for its LCD monitor (LCDM) business. The result showed that BenQ Japan was No. 2 in the 24” widescreen LCDM segment and No. 1 in its stand alone category in two successive quarters; unit shipments increased by 64.6% in Q1 2008 compared to Q4 2007, significantly outperforming the Japan market, which grew by 21.7%.

Meanwhile, BenQ shipments in the Asia Pacific region increased by 33.84%, according to the "Quarterly Desktop Monitor Shipment and Forecast Report" recently released by the NPD Group's DisplaySearch.

BenQ Middle East has also witnessed a significant jump registering over 30% increase in sales of LCDM.  “These impressive results were achieved through continuous value addition to products and services, quality upgradation, strengthening our channel network, improvements in productivity and continuous focus on the markets we operate in,” said Manish Bakshi, General Manager, BenQ Middle East and Africa.

To strengthen its product line up, BenQ will roll out an ultra slim V2400W "premium" LCD display in the Middle East earlier in June with the claim that it's the world's slimmest 24-inch widescreen monitor.

“The V2400W is a big success worldwide to boost market momentum of the 24” widescreen LCD monitors. We are confident that it will be very well received across the region,” added Bakshi.
