ALBAWABA- A barge collision has led to the collapse of the railway section of the Pelican Island Bridge in Galveston, Texas. The Pelican Island Causeway is closed in both directions as emergency crews assess the extensive damage. 

Expect significant disruptions to local traffic and transport services, closing the only road to the island.

The bridge connects the north side of Galveston Island just west of the Port of Galveston with the south side of Pelican Island.
