Landowners and other citizens must apply for permission before cutting down palm trees in Bahrain, the ministry of works and agriculture said in a statement Friday, quoted by the Gulf Daily.
It said that “individuals could only uproot palm trees legally in exceptional circumstances.”
Some landowners were destroying the trees before applying for construction licenses, the statement added -- Albawaba.com
