Bahrain has taken delivery of US Patriot anti-missile batteries, King Hamad said during a visit with troops Saturday, according to the Bahraini News Agency.
The King said, "the introduction of Patriot missile batteries in the Bahrain Defense Force will consolidate (Bahrain's) aerial defense to face the threat of ballistic missiles".
A Bahraini official, requesting anonymity, said the delivery of the Patriot missiles "is part of the military cooperation between Bahrain and the United States and of the measures taken by the kingdom to counter any contingency." (Albawaba.com)
