Bahrain denied on Sunday that clubs had been prohibited from holding public forums, reported the Gulf Daily News.
But a responsible official at the Directorate of Clubs and Youth Affairs said the forums must abide by laws and regulations and respect the spirit of the National Action Charter and national unity.
He welcomed the positive and constructive role played by national clubs and recognized the great achievements which the country had witnessed by encouraging and organizing different forums on national issues which concerned all citizens, particularly young people.
The official said the clubs believed that such forums and seminars would help spread national awareness about the changes taking place in Bahrain.
But he said the directorate should be informed of dates, topics and speakers at these forums, which must adhere to the concerned laws and regulations – Albawaba.com
