Bahrain’s emir, Sheikh Hamad Al Khalifa, condemned Saturday the terrorist aggression against the US, saying such acts violated the spirit of Islam.
He told a meeting he chaired with senior military officers that Islam's message was “one of mercifulness for mankind,” the Gulf Daily News quoted him as saying.
The emir expressed the condolences of the Bahrain government and its armed forces to the “friendly American people and their government and armed forces.”
He also extended the sympathy of Bahrain's government and people to members of Islamic communities who had migrated to the West and contributed to its prosperity.
He said these “communities had remained committed to the tolerant values of Islam.”
