Iraq on Thursday dismissed latest US allegations about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction programs as "ridiculous lies", saying American inspectors are welcome to visit the suspected sites.
"Iraq has no more weapons of mass destruction," Abdul Tawab Mulla Howeish, Iraq's deputy prime minister and minister of military industrialization, told a press conference in Baghdad. "The American administration are invited to inspect these (weapons) sites," he conveyed.
Howeish also said Iraq was not producing weapons of mass destruction and declared that U.S. claims that it was producing them were false. He added Iraq would teach the United States an "unforgettable lesson" if it launched a military action to oust the government of President Saddam Hussein. "If the Americans commit a new foolish action against Iraq, we will teach them an unforgettable lesson," Howeish said.
Later in the day, US warplanes attacked Basra international airport, destroying its radar system and damaging buildings used by passengers, in the third strike on the facility since September, an Iraqi spokesman said. (Albawaba.com)
