MotorCity, Union Properties’ exciting and unique automotive themed recreational, commercial and residential development at the heart of Dubailand, has cemented its relationship with the region’s most prestigious automotive awards ceremony for the third successive year.
Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Maktoum Hasher Maktoum Al Maktoum, the region’s premier motor industry awards ceremony, the AUTOCAR Middle East Awards 2007, is set to take place on December 12th 2007 at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Dubai.
Mr. Simon E Azzam, CEO of Union Properties commented “The AUTOCAR Middle East Awards is an annual highlight for the region’s automotive industry and as such, it is only natural that MotorCity should continue to be a key partner.”
I am always impressed by the way the AUTOCAR Middle East Awards judging panel subject the shortlisted cars to a rigorous three day period of testing and evaluation in order to determine the category winners and, ultimately, the overall winner of Car of the Year. Keeping in with our brand values, it is this attention to detail and commitment to quality that demonstrates why the AUTOCAR Middle East Awards continue to be the ideal partner for MotorCity.”
Such is the high regard of the AUTOCAR Middle East Awards and the global significance of the Middle East market in the automotive industry that this year’s finalists included several car manufacturers air freighting entries in from Europe. Now in its fourth year, the AUTOCAR Middle East Awards 2007 has become an integral part of each automotive brand’s marketing strategy.
Damien Reid, Senior Editor of AUTOCAR Middle East Magazine and chief judge for the Awards said, “It gives me great pleasure once again to welcome MotorCity as our title sponsor for the third successive year.
“Aligning ourselves with a key brand such as Union Properties’ MotorCity enables us to uphold the established integrity of the AUTOCAR Middle East Awards and retain the complete and honest objectivity in our entire decision making that our awards have become synonymous with.”
Since its inception in 2003, the AUTOCAR Middle East Awards have set the benchmark for recognising automotive excellence in the Middle East. Due to the exacting nature of the three day evaluation process by a panel of international judges, the AUTOCAR Middle East Awards are widely acknowledged amongst the region’s industry professionals to be the premier Middle East automotive awards ceremony. Attending the impressive and glamorous annual gala evening will be the region’s automotive industry professionals, dealership principles, VIP guests and celebrities.
Mr Reid concluded, “Yet again, we have been impressed by the response and commitment shown to our awards by the region’s car manufacturers and dealers. Last year only one point separated first and second with the Porsche 911 Turbo being named our Car of the Year for 2006 just ahead of the Audi RS4. Such is the breadth of quality amongst this year’s entrants that we are eagerly anticipating the announcement of all our category winners and we fully expect our Car of the Year for 2007 to be an equally close contest.”
