Syrian activists say a regime rocket attack on Wednesday morning on a village near the central city of Homs killed at least seven people, the Associated Press reports.
According to the British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, children were among those killed in the attack on the village of Eastern Buwaydah, located between Homs and the Lebanese border.
On Wednesday, Observatory director, Rami Abdul-Rahman, reported heavy fighting in the area between government forces and rebels.
The UN estimates that more than 70,000 people have been killed in the Syrian conflict since it began in March 2011.
