Gunfire was reported outside a police station in the Turkish city of Gaziantep in a suspected extremist attack, just days following an explosion outside a courthouse.
Emergency vehicles were dispacthed to the scene amid fears of casualties, according to local reports.
CNN Turk reported that one of the attackers was shot dead during a shoot-out with police, while at least one accomplice is suspected to have escaped.
Bomb disposal professionals were dispatched to search for any explosives in the area.
Turkey's NTV broadcaster speculated that the attackers may have been plotting a suicide bombing targeting a police station.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility.
