Security forces in the Egyptian district of Qalyoubiyyah have arrested an armed gang that terrorized a group of young men and women who were on their way to spend a weekend at a farm in Shbin Al Qanater, the daily Al Gomhuria reported.
The gang members stole the group’s money and jewelry, kidnapped and raped two girls, and then fled the scene.
Investigations revealed that the six-member gang occasionally placed large stones and palm fronds at the entrance to the farm at night, in order to force motorists to stop where they could be robbed.
“I managed to run away with some of my friends, but we were surprised by the gang, which caught us and kidnapped the two girls,” one of the young men in the ten-member group of vacationers told the paper.
After obtaining some information on the appearances of the criminals, the chief intelligence officer of the district gave instructions to apprehend them. The suspects were later referred to the prosecutor general - Albawaba.com
