Arcapita Bank net income on the rise

Arcapita Bank, a leading international investment firm based in Bahrain has declared its results for the year ended 31 December 2005. All in all, Arcapita achieved a record net income of $104.3 million, representing an increase of 48 per cent from the $70.5 million reported in 2004.


The Bank announced that performance remained strong in each of its three principal lines of business - corporate investment, real estate investment and asset-based investment - generating a total operating income of $237 million, an increase of 38 per cent from the $172 million achieved in 2004.

Arcapita reported a return on equity of 29.1 per cent, compared with 27.5 per cent in 2004.  Also during 2005, the Bank completed a total of 13 new investments with a total value of over $2.7 billion and exited from six investments with an aggregate transaction value of $1.2 billion.
