Palestinian President Yasser Arafat has postponed a visit to Spain scheduled for Sunday due to “his busy schedule,” a diplomatic official told the official Kuwaiti news agency (KUNA).
“Arafat’s visit has been postponed due to his intensive talks with world leaders who arrived in the region,” Palestinian envoy to Madrid Nabil Maarouf told KUNA Saturday.
“The Palestinian president was supposed to arrive last night, but he [must hold] talks today with many officials, including CIA Chief George Tenet, US special envoy to the Middle East William Burns, Swedish Premier Goran Persson as well as EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana,” he said – Albawaba.com
