Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat met Tuesday with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, officials close to Mubarak said.
There were no details on the talks which came after Arafat attended the Islamic summit in Doha, where the world's Muslim leaders on Monday threw their weight behind the Palestinian uprising against Israel.
Arafat was due back in Gaza City sometime late Tuesday afternoon.
Leaders of the world's 1.2 billion Muslims "invited" Islamic countries to break ties with Israel and expressed "total confidence" in the Palestinian leadership in a final declaration ending their three-day summit.
Mubarak did not attend the Doha summit, instead sending his prime minister Atef Ebeid – CAIRO (AFP)
