Arab League chief Amr Mussa arrived late Sunday in Qatar, a possible launch-pad for US forces against Iraq, for talks on Iraq and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

He was greeted at Doha airport by Qatar's Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabr al-Thani.

Before leaving Cairo, Mussa said that he was going to meet Qatar's Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, to "coordinate on the latest developments concerning Iraq and the Middle East."

According to AFP, Arab League sources said Mussa would review "the explosive situation in the Middle East amid growing chances of a military attack against Iraq as well as the constant deterioration of the situation in the Palestinian territories." (Albawaba.com)
