At least 1,500 Arab lawyers and political activists visited south Lebanon on Friday and renewed a pledge to sue Israel at the International Court of Justice for its aggressive acts in Lebanon, reported the Daily Star newspaper.
“Arab countries that suffered Israeli aggression must file lawsuits, seek financial compensation and make it stop its aggression,” Beirut Bar Association president, Michel Lian, said.
The lawyers are attending a four-day conference in Beirut organized by the Federation of Arab Lawyers to support the Lebanese people and the Palestinian Intifada.
The group also visited the Lebanese-Israeli border, and stopped at the Fatima Gate which witnessed in the past few months several clashes between Lebanese and Israeli troops.
