Six Arab information ministers met this week with Saudi Arabia's King Fahd in Jeddah to promote a joint media campaign against Israel, reported the Daily Star.
The delegation included information ministers of Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Syria and Jordan, as well as Hanan Ashrawi, the Arab League’s media director.
They briefed the Saudi monarch on their campaign to coordinate a joint media action to counter Israeli propaganda.
The launch of the campaign began at an emergency meeting of the ministers in Cairo in mid-August, which Lebanese Information Minister Ghazi Aridi chaired, in his current capacity as chairman of the Arab League’s Information Ministers Council.
According to an official statement, Saudi Arabia expressed official support for the ministers’ plan, offering to provide assistance to achieve their goals.
The statement said: “Serious joint action is needed to confront Israel’s policies in this dangerous phase.” – Albawaba.com
