Aptec takes VMware on the road
Expanding channel network across GCC to join VMware's Advantage+ program
Aptec Distribution, part of Aptec Holdings, Middle East, Turkey & North Africa's largest technology distributor and a leading technology sales, marketing and logistics company, recently embarked on a special road show with hosted seminars in UAE, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. The road show is in line with Aptec's plans to proactively recruit partners for VMware in the Middle East. In Kuwait, McAfee was also included in the seminar while NetApp and Symantec joined VMware in the seminar in Riyadh.
Ilyas Mohammed, Business Unit Manager for Software at Aptec Distribution, said, "For VMware, we need partners with the right level of understanding of virtualization and its applications in the market. We were very encouraged by the level of attendance at all our seminars, not just by existing and potential partners but by end users (in Dubai) and see a great deal of potential for virtualization in the region. In addition to its portfolio of virtualization solutions, VMware offers attractive channel initiatives."
Aptec is working closely with VMware to train channel partners and help them to kick-start the selling process, as well as offer education on the benefits of VMware virtualization. New partners will be encouraged to participate in VMware's programs including the Advantage+ program designed to help reward partners' investments when proactively selling VMware products and solutions. The program rewards VMware Enterprise partners with a combined up-front discount and back-end rebate program when selling into new accounts, and registering new business opportunities, thus securing the partner's investment in a project.
