Secretary General of the Arab League, Amr Moussa, on Monday stated Arabs have agreed on certain points connected to the Arab-Israeli conflict and on the need to safeguard Palestinian rights and reaching a comprehensive solution.
Moussa made these remarks following a meeting with Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik al-Hariri in presence of Lebanon’s foreign minister Mahmoud Hammoud. He added the Israeli policies are the main obstacle to any settlement emphasizing that no Arab can accept the Israeli measures.
Moussa pointed out that the aggressive Israeli policies against Lebanon and Syria would spark fire in the Middle East.
While in Beirut, the Arab League Secretary General rejected prospected military strikes against any Arab country, including Iraq. According to him, the Arabs are annoyed by the negative developments in the Middle East.
Moussa arrived in Beirut for a short visit in order to look into the preparations for the Arab summit planned to be held in Lebanon at the end of March 2002. (Albawaba.com)
