The American University in Cairo (AUC) has expelled a Muslim female student because she wore the niqab (a full veil that covers the face), Iran's official news agency (IRNA) reported Sunday.
The agency said that student Heba el-Shabrawi was told by the AUC administration that "either she takes off the niqab or feel free to attend another university."
The AUC administration claimed the reason for their decision was that students wearing the niqab would be a security risk' since the identity of the student was hidden -- Albawaba.com
