ALBAWABA - Israeli forces announced the death of an officer and three soldiers' serious injuries in violent Gaza Strip battles today. Palestinian resistance groups, notably Hamas' Al-Qassam Brigades, fought Israeli soldiers trying to enter Gaza.
The IDF said the reserve major died from injuries he suffered in northern Gaza warfare last June. In today's northern Strip clashes, one commander and two men were critically injured.
The IDF has already announced the deployment of extra soldiers around Gaza ahead of the first anniversary of Hamas' massive attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.
After months of Israeli offensives and bombings, the Israeli military ringed Jabalia in northern Gaza, fearing Hamas is regaining power.
In various incursion sites in northern Gaza, Hamas' armed branch, Al-Qassam Brigades, verified fierce fighting with Israeli troops. Al-Qassam boldly claimed to have demolished a booby-trapped home west of Jabalia refugee camp, killing and wounded 10 Israeli troops.
They said that a heavy explosive device exploded beneath a Merkava 4 tank east of Jabalia camp, injuring Israeli forces.
Al-Qassam also stated they improvised explosively attacked an Israeli armored personnel carrier and two D9 bulldozers in northeastern Gaza City.
The Brigades also fired an anti-personnel missile against an Israeli squad retrieving combat victims.
The Islamic Jihad's Al-Quds Brigades said its snipers and Al-Qassam militants shot an Israeli soldier east of Beit Hanoun in northern Gaza.
