ALBAWABA- In a recent escalation of resistance, the Al-Qassam Brigades announced that they targeted an Israeli Merkava tank with an Al-Yassin 105 shell in the Shaboura camp, located in the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip. Following the attack, Israeli helicopters were seen landing at the site to evacuate the dead and wounded.
In a separate incident, Abu Hamza, a spokesman for the Al-Quds Brigades, reported that the Jenin Brigade executed a compound ambush in the Marj Bin Amer area, north of Jenin.
The brigade detonated more than six explosive devices and engaged in combat with Israeli forces in multiple areas in and around the Jenin camp for over eight continuous hours. The ambush destroyed two military vehicles and inflicted casualties among their crews. Subsequent clashes with rescue forces also led to additional casualties.
The Israeli army confirmed the death of one officer and injuries to 16 soldiers, many of whom were seriously injured and airlifted to hospitals.
In another incident, Israeli media reported that an Israeli soldier was killed by sniper fire in Rafah, adding to the mounting toll of the conflict.
In response, Israeli forces re-entered the Nusairat camp in central Gaza, resulting in numerous Palestinian casualties. Israeli Radio stated that the army launched an operation in Shujaiya based on intelligence indicating the presence of Al-Qassam militants.
The bombing of the Shujaiya neighborhood in Gaza City resulted in eight deaths and dozens of injuries to Palestinian civilians, including children and women.
Hamas condemned the intense bombing as part of an ongoing war of extermination waged by the Israeli occupation government against the people of Gaza.
They labeled the repeated targeting of cities, camps, and neighborhoods as war crimes and called for immediate international action to halt the violence and hold Israeli leaders accountable.
