Al-Markazia Central Trade and Auto Company, the authorized dealer for Toyota, Lexus and Hino vehicles in the Kingdom, organized a special screening of the 3D film OceanWorld at Prime Cinema on Sunday, June 13 2010.
The screening was attended by the Minister of Environment Eng. Hazem Malhas and the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Eng. Khaled Irani, in addition to a number of Al-Markazia’s clients and representatives of the media and press. The students of Hosban Secondary School, which Al-Markazia supports under the Madrasati Initiative, were also invited to attend, together with representatives from the initiative.
This initiative comes to reaffirm the company’s deep commitment to the environment and the preservation of our natural resources, as the film OceanWorld tackles the issue by documenting the marvellous world under the sea.
“Al-Markazia is proud to organize such an event, through which we aim to bolster awareness to the environment and its preservation,” said the company’s Marketing Manager Nadim Haddad during a speech he delivered prior to the screening. “This is a crucial issue and one to which we give priority when organizing our sustainable development initiatives. The safeguarding of our environment and the preservation of our natural resources has become a key concern for humanity and more efforts should go toward increasing public awareness to the importance of preserving our natural habitat to secure the survival of our future generations.”
Al-Markazia is one of the private sector companies most vested in the issue of environmental preservation and has launched a number of initiatives to raise awareness on the issue, the latest of which was the Environmental Week organized in collaboration with various environmental organizations and comprised of a series of environmental awareness lectures tailored to each age group and communicating essential guidelines on environmental preservation. The company also organized a number of celebrations marking well known environmental occasions, including Earth Hour and the World Environment Day.
