Afghan opposition warlord Abdul Rashid Dostam on Thursday laughed off Russian media reports that he had been killed in action against the ruling Taliban militia.
"I'm in good health. If I was dead I wouldn't be able to speak," he laughed, speaking to AFP. "I'm at the frontlines where scattered fighting is continuing."
Russia's RIA-Novosti agency reported late Wednesday that Dostam was killed in heavy fighting against the Taliban forces near Mazar-i-Sharif in northern Afghanistan.
