Sigma3, a joint venture company formed to manage the majority of Shell assets in the North Sea has awarded a substantial contract to Monitor to provide a custom-built software solution to streamline and improve efficiency across payroll and invoicing, resulting in significant cost reductions.
Ian McKenzie, Monitor Managing Director, said: “The team at Monitor customised and applied our own mpower software to allow Sigma3 to reduce the time taken on producing invoices and timesheets, as a result the Monitor software processes over 1500 timesheets weekly for this project alone - making sure thousands of offshore workers get paid accurately and on time.
“One of the key aims of introducing the software was to streamline the information flow between the three joint venture companies as well as providing the customer, Shell, with the ability to access key management information. As with any project of this size and complexity the team at Monitor were well aware that there could be no downtime. The project was successfully delivered on time and within budget.”
Neil Lindsay, Sigma3 Commercial Manager, said: “Introducing mpower to Sigma3 provides the project with up-to-date technology, including a future upgrade path that ensures we can meet the demands of the project. The implementation of daily time-writing offshore and the daily upload of hours into SAP, allows for greater cost transparency and ensure correct business decisions are made.”
Monitor has been providing innovative software solutions to the Oil & Gas, engineering and construction industries since it was established in 1987. Now in its 21st year, the firm has headquarters in Aberdeen and an office in Houston, servicing 95% of companies operating in the North Sea.
