ALBAWABA- A deadly train siege in Pakistan's Balochistan province ended with the rescue of 346 hostages and the deaths of 28 soldiers, as security forces launched a decisive operation against Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) militants.

The attack unfolded on Tuesday afternoon when armed rebels stormed a train carrying over 450 passengers in a remote frontier district.

The BLA, a separatist group, quickly claimed responsibility, releasing footage showing an explosion on the tracks before militants emerged from the mountains and seized control of the carriages.

During the assault, 27 off-duty soldiers traveling as passengers were executed, while another soldier died during the army's counter-operation.

Security forces engaged in intense clashes with the militants, killing over 30 insurgents before regaining control of the train.

The BLA has escalated its attacks in recent months, targeting security forces and non-local communities, accusing them of exploiting Balochistan's natural wealth.

The incident follows another armed attack on the Jaffar Express, which left multiple passengers injured and raised security concerns in the region.
