A collision between a tour bus and a pickup truck on the Damascus highway in Dahr Al Baidar injured 19 people on Monday, reported the Daily Star newspaper.

Truck driver Hussein Yassin was traveling in the wrong lane when his Beirut-bound vehicle collided head-on with the bus, which then overturned.

Yassin, who suffered a broken pelvis, was subsequently taken to the Bekaa Hospital, while the remaining injured, all Kuwaitis, were transported to the Mais, Bekaa and Khoury hospitals in the Zahle area.

Most of the injured were released from hospital after treatment, but six people remained, including Yassin and Jamal Abdullah Khamis, the only passenger on the bus said to be in a serious condition, according to the paper – Albawaba.com
