ALBAWABA- Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has raised the alarm about a possible war between Israel and Iran, which he says could potentially escalate into World War III.
During an appearance on the "Neden Özel" program, Fidan emphasized the high likelihood of conflict in the region and urged Turkey to be prepared for such a scenario, given the rising tensions.
He noted that any confrontation would likely involve the United States, increasing the risk of a global war.
Addressing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Fidan described it as an "open-air cemetery," with tens of thousands facing the threat of genocide, blaming Israel's refusal to accept a ceasefire for the worsening situation.
He also indicated that Israel's targeting of Hezbollah and the Houthis in Lebanon was anticipated, though it risks broadening the conflict.
Fidan further discussed the U.S.-China rivalry, suggesting that global power struggles, particularly concerning Taiwan, could have worldwide implications.
Additionally, he mentioned ongoing efforts for normalization with Greece and advancements in Turkey's defense industry, while stressing the importance of Turkey's role in strengthening NATO.
