Yemeni security forces killed the head of the terror cell who was responsible for the killing of a Frenchman in Sanaa earlier this week, reports AFP.

Wael Abdullah Masood al Waeli was shot dead in clashes with security forces on Wednesday.

Yemeni forces also recently killed men who attempted to kidnap a German diplomat in Sanaa, according to AFP.

The militants behind these attacks are most likely members of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP). Analysts believe AQAP is the most deadly of all al Qaeda affiliates.
