Syrian security forces used tear gas Saturday against mourners burying two men who were shot dead in Friday's protest in the southern city of Daraa. Several citizens were injured wounding several, rights activists said.

One activist told AFP that several people inhaled tear gas or were wounded when they began to push their way through the crowd, which had been chanting "God, Syria, freedom."

After the burial the crowd headed for the centre of Daraa, to be met by tear gas, the activist added.

Human rights activists claimed on Saturday that security forces arrested dozens of people following their participation in the demonstrations which took place on Friday in the several Syrian cities.
