The Israeli Yediot Ahronot daily reported on Tuesday that sources close to Lebanon's Prime Minister Saad Hariri have conveyed to the U.S., France, and Saudi Arabia warnings that he is on the brink of a "nervous breakdown" as a result of the pressure being exerted on him over the Special Tribunal for Lebanon's report on the 2005 assassination of his father.
The newspaper added that the Lebanese Premier may go into hiding or leave Lebanon in wake of threats against his life that he may receive. It said that Hariri is being pressured by the U.S. and France to declare the STL's finding and ignore Hizbullah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah's threats of strife in Lebanon. Saudi Arabia, on the other hand, has joined Iranian-Syrian pressure to prevent Hariri from announcing the findings and instead deem it as a "conspiracy aimed at destroying Lebanon," the Israeli daily reported.
