Hizbullah Chief Hassan Nasrallah said Sunday his Shiite group and its allies would not back caretaker Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri to form a new government in talks expected to start Monday. "The opposition unanimously will not name Hariri tomorrow" as their candidate for prime minister, he said.

Hariri's government collapsed last week after Hizbullah and its allies resigned in a dispute over indictments expected to be issued by a U.N.-backed tribunal over the assassination of ex-Premier Rafik al Hariri.

In his speech, Nasrallah said Israel was involved in the assassination. "I have already expressed my belief that the Israelis assassinated Rafik Hariri to change Lebanon, adding "the indictment is the work of Tel Aviv."
