Special Tribunal for Lebanon Prosecutor Daniel Bellemare on Monday submitted his indictments in the assassination case of ex-Premier Rafik Hariri to pre-trial judge Daniel Fransen, a Lebanese news agency reported. It said the "official announcement", however, will be made on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the leaders of Syria, Turkey and Qatar have backed Syrian-Saudi mediation to resolve the Lebanon political crisis over the indictments.
Syrian news agency SANA reported the three leaders "expressed their keenness that this (Lebanon) crisis be resolved on the basis of the Syrian-Saudi efforts to achieve consensus among the Lebanon and prevent a deterioration of the situation."
The announcement came during summit talks in Damascus on Monday.
The three leaders also "welcomed Lebanon's postponement of parliamentary consultations pending political efforts to help the Lebanese find a solution that is in the best interest of the Lebanese people and the stability of Lebanon," SANA said.
