On Sunday, there were conflicting reports on a possible meeting between Lebanon's PM Saad Hariri and Hizbullah chief Hassan Nasrallah. Sources close to Hariri denied reports that he would hold a meeting with Nasrallah soon.

An Nahar daily said earlier Sunday that Hariri and Nasrallah would most probably hold talks in the coming days. Speaker Nabih Berri also announced that he was seeking to bring the two leaders together following the prime minister's return from his visit to Tehran, the backer of Hizbullah.

The efforts to arrange the meeting come amid a tense political stand-off between Hariri's camp and Hizbullah over a UN tribunal probing the 2005 assassination of his father, former premier Rafiq Hariri.
