Lebanon's ministers on Tuesday agreed on "putting an end to heated debate through media, preserving state institutions, resorting to legitimacy and relying on dialogue to solve disputes," Information Minister Tareq Mitri said after the cabinet session held amid high tensions over the issue of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon. According to Naharnet, Mitri quoted the Lebanese President Michel Suleiman as saying that "what happened at the airport gave the impression that the country is before imminent dangers."

"President Suleiman stressed that everyone, and the officials themselves, would suffer alike from any losses," Mitri added.

According to him, Prime Minister Saad Hariri "stressed commitment to all the articles of the ministerial Policy Statement, vowing not to back down on any of them."
