A video is going viral online in which Katniss, the heroic main character from the Hunger Games, is shown ardently in love with Arabic bread instead of Peeta, her true lover. Scenes from the films have been edited to show Katniss looking excited, panicky, desperate and loving—all because she sees the bread.
And can we really blame her? Pita bread is that wonderful soft Arabic bread which can be enjoyed with just about anything, and at any time—unlike a man. Of course in Arabic it is often just called bread.
Uploaded to YouTube by PistolShrimps, the parody video as been viewed over 400,000 times in just two days. In it, we see Katniss in various situations in the film, calling on “Peeta” and instead being presented with a delicious looking pita bread sandwich.
