Daesh’s propaganda wing has released a series of eight videos praising the recent spate of stabbings, and calling for more attacks on Jews.
The videos urge Palestinians to “bring back horror to the Jews with explosions, burning and stabbings,” and remind potential attackers that “time is running out” so they must “struggle hard.”
The speeches — delivered to the backdrop of scenes of recent stabbings — describe those who carry out attacks as “lone wolves who refused to be subdued and spread fear among the sons of Zion." The videos are somewhat unprecedented, and could be a sign that Daesh (ISIS) is looking to have more of an influence in the ongoing conflict.
Daesh has no organized presence in Israel or Palestine, but the group has condemned Hamas for being too soft in its ideology. It is even believed that a number of attacks have been carried out against Hamas targets by Daesh sympathizers.
At least 41 Palestinians and seven Israelis have been killed in the recent surge of violence, with supporters of both sides using social media to spread videos and pictures inciting fear and more violence.
The hashtag #slaughter_of_the_jews (#نحر_اليهود) has been used over 30,000 times in the past seven days, often to promote violence against Jews, and is usually accompanied by photos and statements glorifying Palestinian attackers.
