Citing "knowledgeable sources", al-Hayat newspaper reported in Monday's edition that the organizers of two aid ships to Gaza Strip decided to delay the sailing for some time awaiting the completion of the needed preparations. The sources said that the ships, "Naji Al-Ali," which planned to carry Lebanese and foreign journalists and "Mary", which includes 50 Lebanese, Arab and foreign female activists, have been facing a technical problem. The license granted by the Lebanese Minister of Public Works and Transport Ghazi Aridi to sail from Tripoli is contradicting refusal by the Cypriot authorities to harbor in one of their ports.
Over the weekend, Iran also cancelled plans for sending two aid ships to the Israeli-blockaded enclave.
