Prominent Syrian actor Samer Al Masri denied allegations that his wife had physically abused their maid, asserting that the video with statements made by the maid that is being circulated on different internet websites is fabricated.
Samer said that the maid ran away from his home some time ago, after stealing from them and he had filed a complaint against her.
“These false accusations are made by individuals who are trying to ruin my image,” said Samer.
A number of internet websites launched a video of an Asian maid working in Samer’s home with marks on her face, allegedly from being beaten. The maid said in the video that Samer’s wife had repeatedly hit her, which Samer and his wife deny.
Samer said that the accusations were investigated by officials and it was revealed that the maid had fabricated the incident.
