Prominent Iraqi singer Kathem El Saher has refused to take part in the upcoming music festival “Min Ajl Masr” (For Egypt’s sake), being organized to boost tourism in Egypt and support the Egyptian Revolution.

Kathem’s refusal shocked festival organizers, over his doubs about the seriousness of the festival and the organizing parties who had announced that all proceeds will go in Egypt’s rebuilding process.

A number of prominent stars had announced their participation in the festival and vowed to donate their wages to the cause. Among the stars are prominent Lebanese legendary singer Wadi’ Al Safi, Syrian singer George Wassouf, Hisham Abbas, Haytham Nabeel, Mohammad Foad, Ehab Tawfiq, Shireen Abd Al Wahab and Najwa Karam.

The festival is scheduled to take place at the Cairo International Stadium on July 21-24.
