News reports have it that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has released a decision to grant the Palestinian citizenship to Lebanese singer Fadel Shaker and a Palestinian passport was created for him.
During a recent televised interview with the Arab news channel ‘Al Arabia’, Fadel had stated that it is an honor for him to hold the Palestinian citizenship, despite the fact that he is a full-fledged Lebanese.
According to the internet website MBC.net, Fadel revealed that he grew up in one of the Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon and sang on the roofs among the Palestinian people. He added that his wife is Palestinian.
Fadel said that he always dreamed that he would be granted the Palestinian citizenship and Mahmoud Abbas has made his dream a reality.
