ALBAWABA - After a temporary suspension due to the recent increase in tensions between the U.S. and Iran, Qatar has returned maritime traffic to normal levels.
The traffic will resume as normal after Sunday, according to CNN citing Qatar’s Ministry of Transport. The suspension started at the end of June, affecting the movements of all vessels in its coastal waters.
The Ministry of Transport urged all shipowners and crews to adhere to and comply with the existing safety rules during their navigation of the peninsula’s waters.
The move comes amid faint glimmers of a resumption of talks between the U.S. and Iran, Trump recently posted on X that he has cancelled an attack that was set to be “bigger than ever before” on Iran as reports indicate that Pakistan alongside China are working heavily to restart peace talks between the two countries.
If Qatar’s resumption of maritime traffic signifies that peace talks might actually be restarting between the two warring nations is yet to be seen.
